How to Connect MetaMask to Polygon in 10 Steps?

 

This is a step-by-step guide to connect MetaMask with Polygon.

Step 1: You need to have a MetaMask Wallet. For this, go to metamask.io. Just find the download button and make your selection for Andriod, IOS or Chrome (It can also be used with Firefox, Brave or Edge).

Step 2: Once the download is complete, you should have a MetaMask extension added to your browser.

Step 3: Now, create your wallet or import your wallet if you already have one.

Step 4: After this, go to the polygon.technology (previously known as Matic Network) and find the drop down menu named “Use Polygon”.

Step 5: From this menu, select the “Add Polygon PoS Network to MetaMask”. A popup window will appear which will ask you to connect with your desired MetaMask wallet. Click “Next” and then “Continue”.

Step 6: Once it is connected, click on the “sign” button to finally link your MetaMask with Polygon.

Step 7: After this, access you main dashboard from MetaMask. Look for the default “Ethereum Mainnet” dropdown menu on the top right corner of your screen. You will see all the main networks there.

Step 8: In the “Mainnet” menu, click on the “Custom RPC” to add the Polygon blockchain to MetaMask.

Step 9: Now, fill the form with following details:

• Network Name: Matic Mainnet
• New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/
• Chain ID: 137
• Currency Symbol (optional): MATIC

Step 10: Click “Save”. Now the “Matic Mainnet” is added to your MetaMask to interact with Polygon blockchain.
